7 Απρ 2022 · In November 2019, over 3 years after our patients received surgery at the ASCs, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services changed the requirement for the surgical resection of lumbar synovial cysts (Current Procedural Terminology code 63267) from an inpatient-only procedure to one that is appropriate for an ASC.
The most reliable treatment method for a synovial cyst is to remove the cyst and then fuse the joint. Fusing the joint stops all the motion at that level of the spine, and without any motion, the cyst should not regenerate.
