16 Αυγ 2023 · We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials and observational studies that assessed the efficacy and safety of oral spironolactone for treating hair loss. We searched for eligible papers in PubMed, Web of Science (ISI), Embase, and Scopus.
19 Φεβ 2024 · The average age was 62 years (range 30 to 84) and the average duration of hair loss was 4.84 years (range 1 to 34). Among all patients, 54 (87.1%) identified as Caucasian, 5 (8.1%) as Asian, 2 (3.2%) as Black, and 1 (1.6%) as Hispanic. Spironolactone's daily dose ranged from 12.5 mg to 50 mg, with an average dose of 35.28 mg.
