The company’s binoculars had been well to the fore amongst birders and nature observers for decades but the lack of a spotting scope in the Zeiss armoury had long seemed like a glaring omission to many.
Both Zeiss spotting scopes have a standard push-on cup cover over the eyepiece, as well as a very functional end cap that snaps in tightly. Both models have aiming marks on the end of the scope, which can be helpful when using an angled spotter.

The current shortlist is: Leica APO Televid 82, with 1.8 extender; Zeiss Harpia 95; Swarovski ATX 95/115, with 1.7 extender
22 Ιουλ 2015 · Call it a retro spotting scope, marginally appropriate for birding, etc. The Dialyt does have its strong points, and a dedicated birder may find some use for it. I certainly have.
30 Ιουν 2024 · Most scopes are available in straight or 45° angled models, some (Celestron Hummingbird and Zeiss Gavia and Harpia) only as angled. Even an entry-level scope on a stable mount will show you details the best binoculars cannot.
5 Σεπ 2017 · I mounted it on my Vortex Pro GT tripod, what I would consider an average tripod for a hunter, and it sat and panned just as smooth and easy as my 11x33 spotter. My previous experience with 85mm or even 65mm bells is for them to be quite front heavy and that making fine adjustments is difficult.
