21 Σεπ 2024 · Since our humble beginnings, the SSAA has grown to now offer Varsity Football (11-man & 8-man), Baseball, Softball, Golf, Cross Country, Indoor Volleyball, Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball, Girls Beach Volleyball, Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer, E-Sports and Track (2024).
The adult programs also offer Men's Masters, Men's A Major, A, B, C, D, E, and Recreational. Youth boys, Youth girls offer Slow-Pitch as well as Fast-Pitch for age groups ranging from 8 and under to 19 and under.
Softball is a popular variation of baseball, the difference being that it is played with a larger ball, on a smaller field, and with only underhand pitches (where the ball is released while the hand is primarily below the ball) permitted.Softball is played competitively at club levels, the college level, and the professional level.The game was first created in 1887 in Chicago by George Hancock.
Unless specifically outlined in writing in the bylaws of organizations like the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) and the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) the main governing bodies of fastpitch softball, boys are allowed to join the girls in youth softball leagues.
SSAA NATIONAL RANKINGS. The National Rankings are based on the point system from team placement in a tournament as well as participation in tournaments. Points will be awarded from March 17, 2019 THROUGH AUGUST 17, 2019. This ranking includes all states playing SSAA softball.
