Saint Croix Island International Historic Site is a monument to the beginning of the United States and Canada. In 1604, Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Mons, accompanied by Samuel Champlain and 77 other men, established a settlement on St. Croix Island.

1 Σεπ 2024 · St. Croix International Historic Site is just a few miles south of Calais, Maine. It is small, only 6.5 acres with informational plaques and a collection of bronze statues that depict the Passamaquoddy, the settlers, and Champlain.
13 Νοε 2023 · The entrance to Saint Croix Island International Historic Site is eight miles south of Calais, Maine, along U.S. 1. Facilities. There is no ferry to the island. The mainland offers a view of the island and an interpretive trail with bronze statues telling the story of the 1604 settlement.
