29 Μαρ 2024 · The St. Croix River State Water Trail is a national scenic riverway that flows 164 miles from Douglas County, WI to its confluence with the Mississippi River in Minnesota. Maps are available from the National Park Service.
Welcome to the St. Croix River State Water Trail virtual tour! This federally designated Wild and Scenic River offers miles of stunning scenery, numerous landings and a variety of paddle-in campsites.
While you are here, be sure to spend time on the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway and the Kettle River State Wild and Scenic River. Look for wildflowers, catch a fish, or go birding. As you explore, you may notice that storm-affected forests within the park are undergoing habitat restoration. TRAIL HIGHLIGHTS.
Plan an extended visit to St. Croix. With over 34,000 acres and two great rivers; the Saint Croix River, which is a National Scenic Riverway, and the Kettle River, a State Wild and Scenic River, there's so much to do. Explore the rivers by canoe or with a fishing pole. Swim at Lake Clayton or climb a fire tower.

The lower 125 mi (201 km) of the river form the border between Wisconsin and Minnesota.
