In limited cases, St. Louis County may extend the spring load restrictions on certain county roads if they need additional time to recover their strength. Weight restriction signs will remain posted on these roads. St. Louis County maintains a map of these roads. The following link will be linked to the map when this information is available.
Maps display the six frost zones in Minnesota and the routes which have load restrictions (5 or 7 tons) during Spring Load Restrictions (SLR). In addition, dates for Winter Load Increases (WLI), Middle-Weight Permits and Full-Summer Permits are shown as soon as they are available.

23 Μαρ 2023 · Spring load restrictions have been announced for the North-Central and North frost zones of Minnesota. Restrictions will go into effect on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 12:01 a.m. These two zones include all county highways in St. Louis County. Unpaved roads are restricted to five tons per axle.
