The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, also known as the Saint Louis Cathedral, is a Catholic cathedral in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Completed in 1914, it is the mother church of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the seat of Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski.

Brief History of the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. Even before Archbishop John J. Glennon announced “I propose to build a temple in the name of the Lord my God,” in February of 1905, plans for a new Cathedral for the Archdiocese of Saint Louis were already underway.
The New Cathedral. Located on Lindell Boulevard in the Central West End, the New Cathedral is one of the city's most iconic buildings and probably its best-known church. It dates from 1907, but the vast collection of mosaics covering the interior was not completed until the 1980s.
