So far I've only found the 1992 Amsec/Star/Major service manual which only has a full parts list and diagram for the Star door and no other information.
1-3/4" solid steel "C" rate lift-out door. Manipulation resistant, unitized UL Group II key changeable lock protected by revolving carburized hardplate. Removable dial and drive/drill resistant spindle preventing damage from burglary attack and additional protection from hold-up. Also available with a key lock option (K3).
AMSEC Star floor safes have a solid, 1/2-inch thick steel collar that is engineered to accept the door with almost no play whatsoever. This results in a gap between the precision-machined door and the tight-fitting collar of only a few hundredths of an inch – about 1 mm.
Dial the existing combination on your Star Floor Safe and remove the door from the safe. The order is four times to the left for the first number, three times to the right for the second number, and two times to the left for last number, and finally slowly to the right until you can turn no more.
