15 Δεκ 2018 · Someone brought a small Star floor safe with the push down dial into the shop the other day. It was locked and they wanted it open. We called with the serial number to obtain the combo, it didn't work.
1-3/4" solid steel "C" rate lift-out door. Manipulation resistant, unitized UL Group II key changeable lock protected by revolving carburized hardplate. Removable dial and drive/drill resistant spindle preventing damage from burglary attack and additional protection from hold-up. Also available with a key lock option (K3).
So far I've only found the 1992 Amsec/Star/Major service manual which only has a full parts list and diagram for the Star door and no other information.
Dial the existing combination on your Star Floor Safe and remove the door from the safe. The order is four times to the left for the first number, three times to the right for the second number, and two times to the left for last number, and finally slowly to the right until you can turn no more.

Star square door safes never have the push down dial that is only on round doors. It's just a standard S&G group 2 lock. You can tell when you have the push down dial by turning it to 0 and push it down it springs back up.
