  3. Career & Specialization. Choosing A Career and Specializations. At this stage, the player chooses his character's career (which remains with the PC permanently) and his starting specialization (which may be only one of many the character undertakes over the course of his story).

  4. Although a lot of canon characters have official stats, they don't have careers which muddles things (and even FFG caveats that the characters' stats would change depending on the situation they're encountered in), but it's a good starting point.

  5. In an Edge of the Empire campaign, bounty hunters, smugglers, mercenaries, and explorers not only rub elbows with doctors, politicians, and scholars, but they find themselves thrust into adventures alongside them.

  6. Ranked Talents. Many trees have multiple entries for a single Talent. This is because many of the Talents can be learned repeatedly. When a character learns a Talent for the second-or later-time, they gain an additional rank of the Talent.

  7. Career Skills. Astrogation, Computers, Coordination, Discipline, Knowledge (Outer Rim), Mechanics, Perception, and Piloting (Planetary)
