The State Council and the Council of Ministers co-ordinate their activities through the Ministerial Co-coordinating Committee and the State Council Office (an executive organ elected from within the Majlis).
The Majlis A’shura is the lower house of the Omani Parliament ‘Oman Council’. The upper house is called State Council. It is a financially and administratively independent institution and is based in Muscat. It was established in 1991 to replace the previous Consultative Council of the State.
Oman Council. The Council of Oman (Majlis Oman) is made up of member of the State Council (MajlisA'Dawla) and Consultation /Shura Council (MajlisA'Shura) as stipulated in Article 58 of the Basic Law of the State. It assists the government in drawing up the general policies of the state.
31 Ιουλ 2021 · MUSCAT: The second ordinary annual session of the seventh term of the State Council witnessed increased activities in line with the Royal attention paid by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, to reinforce the pillars of Shura (consultation) and activate the council’s role.
