The Property Tax Division makes the Book of Lands available for purchase and open for public inspection between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, except holidays. View and print transcripts of tax delinquent properties available for purchase.
You may search for transcripts of properties currently available by County, CS Number, Parcel Number, or by the person’s name in which the property was assessed when it sold to the State. Once you have found a property for which you want to apply, select the CS Number link to generate an online application.

Any properties not purchased at the Tax Sale by individuals or companies, are sold to the State of Alabama. If you are wishing to buy tax delinquent property you must contact the Alabama Department of Revenue and they will only accept certified checks for these properties.
When tax sale properties are not auctioned to individual bidders, the Tax Sale Certificate is transferred to the State of Alabama Department of Revenue, Property Tax Division in Montgomery. The property is available for purchase from the state by completing an application.
