Star in a Box. [en-US] Data Table. About. Welcome! You are now the proud owner of Star In A Box. Inside this box you can animate the different stages in a star's life and see how its brightness, size, and mass change with time. Once you've opened the box just click the play button to start animating.

Welcome to the Digital Demo Room, Stellar Structure and Evolution Simulator! The purpose of this simulator is for the user to be able to create and view simulations which evolve stars on a Hertzsprung-Russell (HR) diagram.
As part of its educational mission, the Space Science Institute has developed Starchitect, a free astronomy education game that explores stellar and planetary evolution. Build stars and planets, then watch as they evolve in scaled real time (a million years to the minute).
Stellar Structure and Evolution Simulator. Only the mass, metallicity, and times of star formation fields can take more than one value. For multiple values input into these fields, separate by commas and/or spaces.
On this page, the user can browse an archive of various simulations of stellar evolution. All of these simulations except for the 10,000 star simulation can be created from the advanced page, but are here for those unfamiliar with the creation procedure for the simulations.
Starchitect is a free astronomy education game about stellar and planetary evolution. Here you can create different types of stars, then add planets, and even try for life. All of this happens at a million years a minute (for reference, that would make our solar system about three days old).
stellar - a rapid stellar evolution simulator. stellar, one of the original Digital Demo Room simulations, is based on the SSE tool by Jarrod Hurley. It uses models based on precomputed stellar evolution histories to estimate the evolutionary tracks of stars with arbitrarily chosen masses and metallicities.
