Starlab is a collection of modular software tools designed to simulate the evolution of stars and stellar systems, and analyze the resulting data.
Welcome to the Digital Demo Room, Stellar Structure and Evolution Simulator! The purpose of this simulator is for the user to be able to create and view simulations which evolve stars on a Hertzsprung-Russell (HR) diagram.
stellar - a rapid stellar evolution simulator. stellar, one of the original Digital Demo Room simulations, is based on the SSE tool by Jarrod Hurley. It uses models based on precomputed stellar evolution histories to estimate the evolutionary tracks of stars with arbitrarily chosen masses and metallicities.
Stellar Structure and Evolution Simulator. Only the mass, metallicity, and times of star formation fields can take more than one value. For multiple values input into these fields, separate by commas and/or spaces.
Stellar Evolution Simulation. The AAS Education Series has just released a video highlighting a new simulation created by the UNL Astronomy Education Group. This simulation depicts stellar evolutionary tracks and isochrones by making use of the MESA work from Harvard astronomers.
Starlab is a software package for simulating the evolution of dense stellar systems and analyzing the resultant data. It is a collection of loosely coupled programs (``tools'') linked at the level of the UNIX operating system.
