I created a prototype font last year that turned raw steno outlines like STKPHRAEU directly into steno key diagrams. I decided to release it to the public, and the font found its way onto some steno blogs and websites due to how easy you could create chord diagrams with it.

In narrow letters you have the advantage of more words in a limited space… This series is composed and includes dozen fonts with 633 glyphs each, with true italics, and supports of course: Latin, Greek & Cyrillic.
To type a single letter, use the key or chord for that letter on the left side of the keyboard, along with the asterisk. For example, the 'b' sound is stroked PW, and the letter "b" is stroked PW*. To get an uppercase letter, add the P key on the right side of the keyboard.
Stenography (steno for short) is a method of text input that utilizes a chorded keyboard layout to write parts of words, entire words, or even phrases. Before delving into the details of how steno works, first think about regular keyboards—for example, how one would type the word “complicate”:
Court reporters have used stenography for over a century to write at over 200 words per minute, faster than most people speak. Ergonomic. Stenographers stroke chords instead of typing keys, resulting in less movement and better ergonomics than typing. Flexible. Steno chords can map to words, phrases, symbols, emoji, macros, and more.
