3 Νοε 2019 · The rule for a AND is that it takes takes both inputs, and only produces a 1 output if both input 1 AND input 2 are 1. A NAND inverts that: it only produces a 0 if both inputs are 1. The common chip used is called 7400.
Implementations of basic CMOS logic gates will be discussed first, looking at optimizing the speed, area, or power. The learned techniques will be applied on more evolved designs such as adders and multipliers. The influence of interconnect parasitics on circuit performance and approaches to cope with them are treated in detail.
You should download and run the Step 1 tutorial and practice test items that are provided on the USMLE website well before your test date. The sample materials available on the USMLE website include an additional item with associated audio findings that does not appear in this booklet.
FIGURE 6–1 (a) Basic MOSFET structure and (b) IV characteristics. FIGURE 6–2 Two ways of representing a MOSFET: (a) a circuit symbol and (b) as an on/off switch. At the most basic level, a MOSFET may be thought of as an on–off switch as shown in Fig. 6–2(b). The gate voltage determines whether a current flows between the drain and source or not.
