Almost all of our weather is created within the troposphere. The stratosphere is just above the troposphere, starting at an average altitude of about 7 miles above sea level. The air here is more dry and less dense. Only the highest clouds can be found in this layer.
19 Σεπ 2024 · Earth’s atmosphere has 5 main layers. The layers of the atmosphere in order from the lowest to the highest are the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere. Each area has different temperature changes, chemical compositions, movement, and density.
Stratosphere – the layer of the atmosphere above the troposphere (which is closest to where we live) that exists between 10-30 miles above the earth’s surface. Pressure Level – An altitude in the atmosphere defined by units of atmospheric pressure rather than height in units of distance.
8 Νοε 2024 · The stratosphere is a layer of Earth’s atmosphere. The stratosphere is located above the troposphere and below the mesosphere. Above the troposphere and below the mesosphere, we have the stratosphere. “Strat” means layer. This layer of our atmosphere has its own set of layers.
16 Οκτ 2023 · The stratosphere is one of the layers of the atmosphere of the planet Earth. It extends from about 8 km above the poles (18 km above the equator) to about 50 km. In the stratosphere, the temperature rises with increasing height. This makes the stratosphere very stable.
22 Νοε 2019 · The stratosphere – named for its "stratified" layers of air that don't vertically mix much – plays a key role in buffering the biosphere from UV radiation thanks to its ozone layer, and also happens to be where you spend much of your flights in a commercial jet aircraft.
27 Μαρ 2023 · The Earth’s atmosphere consists of six layers in a layered pattern, including the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, ionosphere, and exosphere. Putting these complicated terms into understandable activities for kids can help teach them the basics of what happens in each layer.
