The Stratosphere. The prefix "strat" means layer. The stratosphere is so named because it has its own set of layers. Since there is no turbulence in the air here to keep the air mixed up, the coldest, heaviest air sits at the bottom of the stratosphere and the warmest, lightest air sits at the top.
The stratosphere is just above the troposphere, starting at an average altitude of about 7 miles above sea level. The air here is more dry and less dense. Only the highest clouds can be found in this layer. Aircraft often fly in the lower stratosphere to escape the turbulence present in the troposphere. Near the top of the stratosphere
15 Μαρ 2021 · Each part contains a worksheet with the information and the layers’ names, one activity to complete in color, one activity to complete in black and white and an easy and funny craft for kids. The atmosphere is divided in five layers: troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere and exosphere.
19 Σεπ 2024 · The stratosphere is made up of mainly nitrogen and oxygen. But it also has a layer known as the ozone layer, which contains a high concentration of ozone. This is able to absorb most of the Sun’s ultraviolet radiation.
The layers of the atmosphere children will cover in this resource are troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere. Print and distribute this worksheet with coloring utensils for students to color code the layers of the atmosphere and record each layer's distance from Earth.
The atmosphere can be divided into four layers - the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, and thermosphere - based on how temperature varies with altitude. In the troposphere, temperature decreases with altitude until the tropopause.
Explain why the temperature of the stratosphere is higher than the temperature of the troposphere? 15. Which atmospheric layer do you expect you must learn more about before you understand weather
