Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) is an organic compound which is commonly used as a plasticizer because of its low toxicity and wide liquid range. With the chemical formula C 6 H 4 (CO 2 C 4 H 9 ) 2 , it is a colorless oil, although impurities often render commercial samples yellow.
9 Μαρ 2021 · The magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles combined with gas chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry has been reported to detect di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate in water samples. The method has a detection limit of 0.02 μg/L. The recoveries were 93.3–103.2%, and the relative standard deviations were 1.2–3.2% (Li et al. 2016).

HJ/T 72-20014 uses an HPLC-UV method for the determination of three phthalates (Table 1) in industrial wastewater and ground water. Because all phthalates are prohibited as a food additive, GB/T 21911-20086 provides a GC-mass spectrometry (MS) method for the determination of 16 phthalates in food samples (Table 1).
