(Jeremiah 1:11-12) Jeremiah’s first lesson in his training as a prophet. Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”
Jeremiah contains poetic, apocalyptic, and narrative literary styles. Chapters 1-25 detail God’s warnings of judgment toward Israel. 26-45 describe stories of disaster and a message of hope. And 46-52 conclude with a collection of poems about the impending judgment for Babylon and the exile of Israel to Babylon.
