29 Δεκ 2023 · (C) The rules adopted under division (B) of this section shall permit a substitute career-technical teaching license holder to teach outside the license holder's certified career field for up to one semester, subject to approval of the employing school district superintendent.
30 Μαΐ 2019 · The licensure requirements for substitute teachers in Ohio will undergo significant changes once Senate Bill 216 (SB 216) goes into effect on July 1. The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) formerly issued both Long Term five-year, and Short Term one-year substitute licenses under Revised Code (RC) section 3319.226.
Earlier this summer, the Ohio General Assembly passed House Bill (HB) 583 which extended this temporary provision for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years. The provision is intended to provide flexibility for districts who are facing challenges finding substitute teachers.
Special provisions/permissions may be granted for substitute teachers and substitute secretaries in long term assignments (10 days or more) with permission from Substitute Services. All substitutes are required to take a lunch.
Standard 1-Year and 5-Year Multi-Age (P-12) substitute teaching licenses are available for applicants who meet qualifications and have been hired to serve in Ohio schools or districts. 3 Οκτ 2023 · (C)(1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in section 3319.226 of the Revised Code, the state board shall issue a one-year temporary substitute teaching license to an individual who does not hold a post-secondary degree but meets the requirements prescribed in division (B) of this section.
15 Νοε 2021 · The State Board will issue a nonrenewable temporary substitute teaching license to an individual who meets those requirements, even if the individual does not hold a post-secondary degree. These temporary measures regarding the employment of substitutes are only valid for the 2021-2022 school year.
