Damage/Effect. Control (...) You suggest a course of activity (limited to a sentence or two) and magically influence a creature you can see within range that can hear and understand you. Creatures that can't be charmed are immune to this effect. The suggestion must be worded in such a manner as to make the course of action sound reasonable.

The suggestion must be worded in such a manner as to make the course of action sound reasonable. Asking the creature to stab itself, throw itself onto a spear, immolate itself, or do some other obviously harmful act ends the spell. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw.
Suggesting the most unreasonable acts, those that cause obvious harm, causes the spell to end immediately. Suggestion lasts for a maximum of 8 hours if you maintain concentration. The suggestion can also occur on a specific trigger. If the trigger isn’t met before the duration ends, it doesn’t happen.
13 Δεκ 2022 · An NPC under the effects of a Suggestion spell who is attacked will cause this spell to end. Keep this in mind, especially if used in a combat situation or where you still need the NPC to continue to follow what was suggested.
Some spells require the caster to make an attack roll to determine whether the spell effect hits the intended target. Your attack bonus with a spell attack equals your spellcasting ability modifier + your proficiency bonus. Most spells that require attack rolls involve ranged attacks.
Yeah, the only spells out there with better single-target average damage are Disintegrate (at 8+), Finger of Death and Meteor Swarm (and a very delayed Delayed Blast Fireball).
