We still have an ongoing issue that started in July 2023 and remains unresolved. It took a complaint to the BBB to get Sunrun's attention and finally start being responsive but after all these months I'm still fighting them on the phone and via live customer service chats.
A scam a lot of people run is they buy a phone from a carrier, sell the phone and never pay a dime to the carrier. If they’re quick enough, they get a payout from Gazelle.com before being flagged by the network.

When SunRun designs a system they don’t factor PG&E’s rate plan. Something else SunRun is not saying is PG&E right now has too much solar produced electricity on the grid right now and is penalizing customers who install or have installed solar.
Finally, I posted negative reviews online and with the BBB. That finally got the attention of an advocate guy whose job is apparently to clean up their messes. He did finally get it fixed.

Sunrun is indeed a legitimate business. Their model mostly relies on solar leases where you don't own the panels but instead purchase the electricity generated by the panels. PPA or Power Purchase Agreement. At the end of the term the company will remove the panels from your roof.
