28 Σεπ 2021 · DNA in cells is supercoiled and constrained into loops and this supercoiling and looping influence every aspect of DNA activity. We show here that negative supercoiling transmits...
16 Φεβ 2021 · Here authors use atomic force microscopy and atomistic molecular dynamics simulations, to resolve structures of negatively-supercoiled DNA minicircles at base-pair resolution.
30 Οκτ 2024 · MegaDNA, a long-context genomic language model, generates DNA sequences up to 96 K base pairs with annotated proteins and potential regulatory elements. It predicts essential genes, genetic ...
10 September 2018. Annotate. Cite. Permissions. Share. Abstract. This chapter discusses the genetic foundations of the human capacity for language. It reviews the molecular structure of the genome and the complex molecular mechanisms that allow genetic information to influence multiple levels of biology.
18 Ιουλ 2019 · Twin supercoiling domain model. This is the model proposed by Liu and Wang (1987) and supported by numerous independent experiments. Core RNA polymerase is engaged in transcript elongation: mRNA, ribosomes and nascent polypeptide are omitted for clarity.
24 Νοε 2023 · We demonstrate and quantitatively model supercoiling-dependent binding in a single-molecule assay, where we directly observe the different intercalator densities going from supercoiled to nicked DNA. The single-molecule assay provides direct access to binding kinetics and DNA supercoil dynamics.
Supercoiling provides a significant amount of free energy to DNA molecules and, inside cells, this can be used to drive structural transitions and other metabolic processes that would normally be thermodynamically unfavourable, such as opening of the DNA helix during replication and transcription.
