We propose a notional design for a high-torque-density (66 Nm/kg), high efficiency (99%) 36 MW, 120 rpm motor for ship propulsion. The synchronous motor uses LTS field coils to create a minimum of 2 T magnetic field in the air gap of the motor.
13 Απρ 2022 · Ionic field-effect transistors can generate high carrier densities in a layered superconductor, as the electrochemical doping drives ionic intercalation into the interlayer space.
4 Ιουλ 2005 · This article discusses ship electric propulsion from the point of view of the motor and power electronic configurations that can be deployed.
13 Ιουν 2005 · A 5 MW, 230 RPM, 6-pole high temperature superconductor (HTS) ship propulsion motor is presently under test at the Center for Advance Power Systems (CAPS). This paper provides a summary of the key design features of the motor, predicted performance, factory test results and extended test results to date at CAPS.
Superconductivity is destroyed by increasing either the temperature above T c or the field above H c, as shown in the plot (figure 1.7) depicting a phase diagram of a superconductor in the H–T plane.
1 Ιαν 1998 · In the high-temperature superconductors with T c -values above 77 K, the charge carriers are defect electrons (holes), whose concentration is intimately connected to oxygen non-stoichiometry...
19 Μαρ 2020 · Superconducting Synchronous Motors for Electric Ship Propulsion Abstract: This paper develops a notional design for a 36 MW, 120 rpm motor for ship propulsion. The design exhibits high torque density (66 Nm/kg) and high efficiency (99%).
