Turn the watch upside down. Locate the small spring bar openings. Slide the fork end of the spring bar tool between the strap and lug and pry the spring bar from the side facing the watch case towards the centerline of the strap. Gently push the strap towards you with your other hand to free the spring bar from the hole.

It does not slip and the watch does not bounce. I’m using it with the original metal bars of the silicone straps. I’m also thinking in a wider nylon strap, sand color or similar. But for now, this one is working fine for me.
I've easily replaced the straps on my Suunto's with colourful after market replacements off ebay. It sounds like you just need a strap loop though and if u/0inkognito is right, you should be able to get one off Suunto and you shouldn't need to take your strap off to fit it.
