The course consists of five modules. Modules 1 and 2 focus on the policy-makers and school leaders. Modules 3, 4, and 5 address the specific mind-change for the heads of schools and teachers. It is strongly recommended that the policy-makers follow all five modules to have, in the end, a full understanding of the whole chain.
This work resulted in the UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT CFT) first published in 2008 in the form of three booklets, including a policy framework that explained the rationale, structure and approach of the ICT CFT; a set of ICT CFT modules; and a set of implementation guidelines.
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) can impact student learning when teachers are digitally literate and understand how to integrate it into curriculum. Schools use a diverse set of ICT tools to communicate, create, disseminate, store, and manage information.

This module provides an overview of information and communication technology. It aims to help students identify different information sources and communication tools, evaluate the reliability of information from various sources, and understand how technology continually changes.
