Swap Magic is a boot disc from the PS2 scene which allows you to run PS2 backups and homebrew content on a PS3 with any version of OFW. This includes the ability to use OPL and play games from USB or SMB, though FMV and heavy loading games may stutter.

24 Ιουλ 2018 · Now, I've read a bunch of threads on various PS2 modding forums and apparently the only way to softmod my PS2 is to boot uLaunchELF (or maybe even the new project wLaunchELF) using a Swap Magic.
16 Ιαν 2022 · There is no need to make ISO with/or use Swap Magic. Create disc image with OPL and run it as any game. Just like Swap Magic in those ancient tutorials.
10 Νοε 2024 · You can't just use the discs. It's called SWAP magic for a reason. What do you think the PS3 is going to do when you press eject and try to stick in a PS2 game on a DVDR? You'll have to take the top off of your PS3 and "Swap" like the name implies. Or wire a switch to "trick" the PS3 into thinking that the eject button wasn't pressed.
15 Νοε 2024 · You can now run your backuped PS2 games from any region on your PS3 with Emotion Engine aka launch console through Swap Magic 3.6+/3.8 with some files and you can even run the backups through a USB device.
