During this 2 day (16 hour) course you will learn all of the fundamentals on how a rescue is performed in a swiftwater environment, how rescues are conducted in floodwater zones, and how to assist a swiftwater rescue technician or unit in a rescue.
25 Οκτ 2024 · TEXSAR is offering a Swiftwater Rescue Technician 1 course (SRT) for members needing initial certification in SRT, recertification for eligible, previously certified members, and those who are currently certified and wish to audit. The course is 27-hours over 2.5 days, including one night training.

The SRT course provides rescuers with the fundamentals of survival in moving water and is recommended for anyone who may be called upon to effect in-water rescues. Students gain knowledge in hydrology and river classifications, size-up, site control and scene management.
Swiftwater Rescue Technician trains first responders team leadership skills and technical training regarding swiftwater rescue operations. This course meets and exceeds NFPA Standards 1006 (2021) and 2500 (2022) for technician-level requirements.
