The model views humans as behavioral systems made up of interrelated subsystems like attachment, dependency, and achievement. Nursing aims to maintain balance within these subsystems.
This systems or organismic view reflects a transactional approach to educational and developmental psychology (e.g., Gordon, 1975; Schiamberg & Smith, 1982; Thompson, 1971) and provides the basis for the framework for studying human behavior presented below.
