The story begins in 1946, when the Tahoe Biltmore was built by Joseph Blumfield. The Tahoe Biltmore later changed it’s name when Sanford “Sandy” Adler bought it in 1951. Adler, who owned the Cal-Neva Lodge at the same time, renamed the Tahoe Biltmore the Cal-Neva Biltmore.

The hotel casino was in operation for 76 years and fell into disarray before EKN Development came in and bought the property in 2021.
