IE900 offer more airiness up above, not much resulting in terms of better clarity but rather in terms of a more realistic spatial sensation.

Sennheiser IE800S ($1000): The IE800S follows a similar tonality to the IE900 - so it has a similar suppressed upper-midrange - while opting to follow a more lower-treble oriented response that is reminiscent of the legendary HD800S headphone. But the IE800S really stumbles in the technical department.
