30 Απρ 2020 · Given that you don't need autofocus with a macro lens, you should be able to find a cheap, old MF macro lenses from the film era that you can use with an adapter (if you want a macro lens for not very much money).

I am excited about this lens because it defines a milestone for the E-Mount system: until now, we only had a choice between Sony’s budget line, Samyang and the other (super-)expensive Sony/Zeiss options.

The new lens is a bit wider (75.8 vs 73mm) but is a fraction shorter and 10g lighter. You might also note from the first photo that Tamron has redesigned the rear lens cap to be to more low profile and a better fit for the Sony aesthetic (the older caps were similar to their DSLR mount designs).
15 Δεκ 2021 · So far the lens is only available for Sony E-mount but Tamron has announced that they are working on Z- and RF-mount versions of their lenses. It is the slimmest and by far the lightest standard zoom lens with a constant f2.8 focal ratio available for full-frame mirrorless cameras.
