The city received a major boost to its social and economic life in 1754 when it became the seat of the supreme court of justice of the Principality of Transylvania. During medieval times, guilds, made up of groups of craftsmen, played an important role in the evolution of the town.
28 Δεκ 2015 · In anul 1616 orasul devine municipiu si primeste numele unguresc de Marosvasarhely, echivalentul, in limba romana, de Targu Mures. Incepand cu 1754, orasul cunoaste o dezvoltare economica, culturala si administrativa, pentru ca aici se afla Curtea Suprema de Justitie, a Transilvaniei.
