28 Αυγ 2022 · The dog’s hock anatomy shows three important articulations among the tibia, fibula, tarsal (7 bones), and metatarsal (5 bones) – tibiotarsal, intertarsal, and tarsometatarsal. Here, the tibiotarsal or tarsocrural articulation permits the greatest degree of hock movement.
18 Ιουλ 2016 · Seven individual bones are members of the complete tarsal joint: the talus (tibial tarsal bone); the calcaneus (fibular tarsal bone); the central tarsal bone; the fourth tarsal bone; and the first, second, and third tarsal bones (see Figure 64-1).
The tarsal bones (basipodium) compose the first row of the skeleton of the pes. The tarsal bones are arranged from proximal to distal into 3 rows: Proximal (crural) row: composed by tibial tarsal bone (talus) and fibular tarsal bone (calcaneus).
8 Ιουλ 2016 · The central tarsal bone lies between the talus and the numbered tarsal bones I to III. Tarsal IV is large and articulates with the calcaneus and metatarsal bones, spanning this entire region. The canine hindpaw has five metatarsal bones; however, the first metatarsal can be short or absent.
