Phase failure relays are often used to control a shunt trip circuit breaker. When this is done, care must be taken to insure that the shunt trip circuit always has an adequate source available. The Phase-Guard is a phase voltage balance monitoring device designed to protect three phase motor equipment from Phase Loss, Reverse Phase, Overvoltage, and Low Voltage (undervoltage) faults.
Phase-Guard will automatically reset whenever the cause of the fault has been corrected and balanced voltage is restored. All models include DPDT output relay with 30 amp contact rating. A two line display shows the current state of the relay.
The Phase-Guard can be used to protect individual motors or a group of motors collectively, when they are fed from a common contactor or magnetically latched circuit breaker. One Phase-Guard relay can be used to protect equipment in a small plant from single phasing from an outside source.
