Registered Ports: 1024 through 49151. Dynamic/Private : 49152 through 65535. TCP ports use the Transmission Control Protocol, the most commonly used protocol on the Internet and any TCP/IP network. TCP enables two hosts to establish a connection and exchange streams of data.

This is a list of TCP and UDP port numbers used by protocols for operation of network applications. The Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) only need one port for duplex , bidirectional traffic.
The port numbers in the range from 0 to 1023 are the well-known ports or system ports .[6] They are used by system processes that provide widely used types of network services.
14 Απρ 2021 · What is a port? What is a Socket? In this tutorial you will learn about TCP and UDP ports and sockets and why they are needed.
13 Αυγ 2015 · Between 1024 and 49152 are a bunch ports that have been assigned as the default port for a lot of not-so-well-known, especially corporate/proprietary protocols. It's considered best practice for an OS to try not to use these ports.
Port Numbers¶ All three transport layers (UDP, SCTP and TCP) use 16-bit integer port numbers to differentiate between processes. The well-known ports: 0 through 1023. The registered ports: 1024 through 49151; The dynamic ports or private ports, 49152 through 65535. Also called ephemeral ports. Some notes from the figure above:
Ports 0 to 1023 are Well-Known Ports. Ports 49152 to 65535 are Public Ports. A comprehensive list of commonly used network port numbers and a description of service provided by each.
