We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday in China however fell hook, line and sinker for a VERY professional and slickly executed scam in Shanghai. Walking through People's Square, we stopped to take a photo and were approached by a very well dressed Chinese couple, about late 20s.
Thanks to [friend], who realized what was going on after my initial post, I searched the inter-webs and sure enough found plenty of stories about tourists being ripped off by the famous "Shanghai Tea House Scam".
