In order to create a verified credentials portfolio, the FCVS team works with the appropriate education and training institutions to verify the credentials listed below.
Through licensing, state medical boards ensure that all practicing physicians have appropriate education and training, and that they abide by recognized standards of professional conduct while serving their patients. Obtaining a license to practice medicine in the U.S. is a rigorous process.
FCVS obtains primary source verification of medical education, post graduate training, and examinations to create a permanent credentials profile that can be used throughout the medical professional’s career. Initial and Subsequent applications for FCVS are used for verification of your credentials and is not an application for licensure.
In 2010, ECFMG introduced medical school accreditation by a recognized accrediting agency, now known as the Recognized Accreditation Policy. The goal of this initiative is to stimulate accreditation efforts worldwide and promote global standards for the evaluation of undergraduate medical education.
