All formal teaching portfolios stem from an informal living collection of documents that will change over time as you extend your practice, evaluate your teaching, reflect and act on the results of those evaluations, and develop different and more effective approaches to your teaching.

For example, a part of a lesson plan might be to provide a rationale for why you chose to teach particular content or use a certain resource or activity, or you may be asked to provide a rationale as to why you chose a particular theory to apply or a concept to support.
