Café Fledermaus, located on the Lower Level of the museum, is open for dining on select days, offering the same menu as Café Sabarsky. A range of the Neue Galerie’s public programs and events are hosted in Café Fledermaus, including lectures and film screenings.
Located inside the Neue Galerie, it's a very classy, cozy cafe that serves cakes for breakfast! It's Austrian/German. There was already a line before they even opened, and you enter separately (no museum visit needed) and do a security check.

28 Μαρ 2024 · A tribute to Vienna’s traditional coffee houses, Café Sabarsky emulates the old gathering centers for Austrian intellectuals and artists. Tucked inside the Neue Galerie, it is outfitted with period objects, including lighting fixtures by Josef Hoffmann, furniture by Adolf Loos, and banquettes that are upholstered with a 1912 Otto Wagner fabric.
Gustav Klimt’s “Portrait of Adele Bloch Bauer I” (1907) isn’t the only golden delight to take in at Neue Galerie New York. Pop into Café Sabarsky for the famous Wiener Schnitzel. Café Sabarsky seats guests on a first-come, first-served basis for breakfast and lunch. Dinner reservations are available via RESY.
2 ημέρες πριν · Happy Medium. Of course, I have to mention Happy Medium as the OG art café in the city. Launched in 2020, Happy Medium is a large and airy loft space in Chinatown that’s absolutely crammed with art supplies, and they recently opened a second location in Greenpoint.
For a classic Viennese experience, make sure to stop here for the delicious pastries ( chocolate cake is fantastic), coffee and incredible ambiance after taking in Klimt's masterpieces next-door. A European style cafe with Viennese food, pastry and coffee specialities accompanied with great chamber music.
