10 Απρ 2024 · As of 2019, adolescents aged 15–19 years in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) had an estimated 21 million pregnancies each year, of which approximately 50% were unintended and which resulted in an estimated 12 million births (1,2).
In 2017, the majority — an estimated 58 percent — of pregnancies to adolescent females ages 15-17 ended in a birth and 28 percent ended in an abortion; for teens ages 18-19, 62 percent of pregnancies ended in a birth and 23 percent ended in an abortion.
