24 Φεβ 2009 · This 5.8-mile dirt road runs across the park from North Carolina to Tennessee. Riders are encouraged to keep speeds below 20 mph here as there are many sections with steep cliffs. While camping is not permitted within the OHV area, several campgrounds are located nearby.
Offering 40 miles of trails, Upper Tellico’s 8,000 acres are known for great fourwheeling. The Tellico River crosses this high elevation basin’s rugged, steep terrain. Most trails are open to all types of off-highway vehicles; one trail is restricted to all-terrain vehicles only.

30 Ιαν 2009 · The Tellico Off-Road Vehicle Area in North Carolina’s Nantahala National Forest has over 40 miles of off-highway vehicle (OHV) trails—twice as many as are legally allowed by the U.S Forest Service.
The Black Hills offers over 3,800 miles of roads and trails for motorized vehicles. Over 700 miles of system trails are designated for Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs) and available for riding with a valid Motorized Trail Permit.

The 43 miles of trails are famous for having some of the best 4x4 trail riding in all of the U.S. The closest towns are Murphy, NC south of the area and Tellico Plains, TN northwest down along Tellico River. The Dixie Run is held annually at the end of September.
