In the prophetic writings of the Book of Daniel and the Brit Chadashah (New Testament), we find significant details about the role of a rebuilt Temple in the end times. Both Daniel and Yeshua (Jesus) tell us that the Anti-Messiah will defile the Third Temple before the return of the true Messiah.
4 Σεπ 2019 · John goes on to record Jesus referring to his own body as the temple, saying that it will be destroyed but rebuilt in three days (John 2:19-21). At Jesus’ crucifixion , the curtain that shielded the inner room of the temple was torn in half.
Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”
The temple will be rebuilt very early in the first half of the Tribulation and the Jews will offer sacrifices there as they did in the time of Christ. So the temple worship of verses 1-2a will occur during the first half of the Tribulation, during the time of the treaty between Israel and the Roman prince, the beast of revived Rome (Dan. 9:27).
Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” and said, “This man stated, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days.’” “We heard Him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.’”
14 Αυγ 2015 · Two of the more recent models of Herod’s Second Temple can be seen at the Bible Museum in Amsterdam, and in the grounds of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. The prophets Haggai & Zechariah encourage the returned exiles to rebuild the Temple in c.520BC.
