What Does “Tempus Fugit” Mean? Tempus Fugit is a Latin phrase, usually translated into English as “Time Flies”. The expression comes from line 284 of book 3 of Virgil's Georgics, where it appears as fugit inreparabile tempus: “it escapes, irretrievable time”.

For the past few years, the chain on the right side needs to be pulled quite hard, even if the weight is removed, in order to raise the weight. The clock has never had any maintenance done on it. How can I get the chain to move easily once again? Thanks!
