Terrycloth, terry cloth, terry cotton, terry towelling, terry, terry towel, Turkish towelling (formerly), or simply towelling is a fabric woven with many protruding loops of thread which can absorb large amounts of water. It can be manufactured by weaving or knitting.

Terry cloth has been around for centuries, with its origins dating back to the early 19th century in Europe. However, it wasn’t until the 1840s that a French weaver named Joseph-Marie Jacquard perfected the mechanized loom, making terry cloth production more efficient.

Terry Cloth is a fabric with pile loops all over the fabric and can be divided into single and double sides brushed. This Terry Cloth contains pile loops on one side, while the ground side is flat. The ground side can be brushed to make a smoother hand feel similar to Fleece Fabric.
