A lien release form is used to officially declare that a property lien has been fully paid. As a result, the lienholder has no legal claim to the property whatsoever. If liens against property have not been settled, lienholders can rightfully seek foreclosure on the property to collect what is owed.
Instructions. A release of a lien may be executed in the lien release section located on the front of the certificate of title, on this form, or on the lienholder’s letterhead. A release of lien on the lienholder’s letterhead must contain the same information as required in the “Vehicle Information” section of this form.
Texas Release of Lien. Select County Where the Property is Located. After completing payments on the promissory note connected to a deed of trust, the lender completes this release of lien form.

When a debt for labor or materials is satisfied or paid by collected funds, the person who furnished the labor or materials shall, not later than the 10th day after the date of receipt of a written request, furnish to the requesting person a release of the indebtedness and any lien claimed, to the extent of the indebtedness paid.
