Depending on what county you were in, the odds can go either way. Given that it’s your first offense, depending on your BAC, you might have a solid chance of getting a light sentence. Hopefully even reduce the charge to reckless driving, but Texas really lives to pin that DUI on violators.
This is my first Reddit post and DWI. I was charged with a DWI in Texas in 2021, im in a pre trial intervention program for a year, I’ve had an IID in my car since the arrest. I blew over a .15 and was in a minor accident.
Some key info: I’m a female and was arrested at 28 with my first DUI charge and received it while living in Texas at the beginning of 2022. BAC came in at .21 and I had crashed my car into the curb when the cops found me. I hired my own attorney and the whole ordeal took 10 months. Part 1: The Night I got Arrested.
I got my first (and only 🤞🏼) DWI in Texas. It took over a year for me to get my court date but once I did I was sentenced to 18 months probation. It definitely sucks not being able to drink and smoke but other than that it’s been pretty easy.
Texas is the worst state to get a DUI in and Harris is the worst county, they’ll take your money any way they can. His name is Tad Nelson, he works with his wife and they both have different approaches they’re better at depending on the case. They’re both killers in the game with awesome resumes.
