VTR 68-A Vehicle Inspections: The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Auto Theft Division ONLY conducts inspections for residents who reside in the unincorporated area of Harris County.
For manufactured vehicles, the completed Form VTR-68-A must include the vehicle's year and make identified by the authorized inspector. If a year and make cannot be determined, TxDMV cannot issue an assigned or reassigned number or title the vehicle.
The 68-A inspection is a Law Enforcement Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Inspection for titling purposes or to determine if an assigned or re-assigned VIN is necessary for titling. This is not a safety inspection, nor do we provide a weight scale.
Print the Vehicle Verification Request Form (PDF). This form must be printed, filled out, and brought to the inspection. Location: 3181 SE Inner Loop Georgetown, TX 78626. Download Directions (PDF) for more information.
